i subscribed to MS365 from Microsoft as directed, but my Mac still won't open my Excel and Word docs?
Why not? Is there a fix or did I just waste money on the subscription i was forced to get?

You don't even need any Microsoft products merely to open those documents. Something else is going on.
Select one of those documents and choose File > Open With
What are your choices?

Twice isn't enough for Microsoft.
@JohnGalt thanks a bunch. as soon as i used "open with" it triggered my microsoft subscription and i was able to activate on this laptop. before, i just kept getting the 32 vs 64 bit msg from Apple with no way to move on from that other than the App Store - which would have meant buying the same thing twice......all is well in doc land again
