why is it soooo hard to get music on itunes? i bought a new laptop and now it's too NEW to run itunes???
i have been researching for days and cannot get "preferences" on any sidebar, etc. in the Apple Music app.

The Music app (and others) replaced the iTunes app. See: What happened to iTunes? - Apple Support
To get to Music Preferences, open the Music app and then click on "Music" in the menu bar at the very top of the screen next to the Apple logo then click Preferences.
