MacBook Air volume

My volume on my MacBook Air has suddenly gone really quiet. I have checked the sound output section in settings and it is set to max but still isn't as loud as normal. How can this be fixed?

max volume on macbook air very low The volume on my macbook air is very low when its up max. Settings have been checked and they are at the correct setting i.e output speaker is up full. Can anyone advise on how this can be fixed or what the problem is?

An NVRAM Reset ought to fix it: Reset NVRAM or PRAM on Mac - Apple Support
