Catalina Chinese Input Problem (can only input single word)

I just upgraded to Catalina. Weird Chinese Input occurred! I can only input single word! When trying to input 2 words, no more "underlined" and turned to english typing condition (input method still shown as Chinese)!

What's happening?

Could you specify which of the many Chinese input methods you are using, and whether your problem occurs in all apps, including Mail, Notes, Message, Safari, Pages, TextEdit?

Sometimes a safe boot will clear up such glitches.

What? Mac's version can't be used but third party ran smoothly? What's wrong? I missed something?

I don't see anyone else with your problem, so presumably there is some obscure issue with your particular install. Perhaps it will resolve itself in a future OS update. In the meantime, glad to hear you found an alternative, sometimes they are better anyway.

Some more if you need them

So, does it mean ReFormat is the only way?”

Try a Reinstall of the macOS:

That might make the difference. If a change (i.e. Update) is installed, then sometimes settings (i.e. for Language) become corrupted, technically. So, reinstall the macOS.

Backup your Mac First:

Be certain to backup your Mac with Time Machine backup, that way, you’ll have something to restore your Mac from should anything go wrong with the reinstall.
