Stuck on macOS High Sierra 10.13.6 - what's next?

Using iMac 2.5-inch, 2009 and macOS High Sierra version 10.13.6. What's the current software update that I should be on? Thanks.

Stuck macOS update My computer will not update the IOS software. it seems to be stuck on 10.13.6. Ive tried several times and it looks as though it does but doesn't. It goes through the normal update process but then it still says its on 10.13.6. Anyone know how to fix this? I know this is an older model but its in good shape and Id hate to have to buy a new one. Software Update not working Running iMac (Retina 4K, 21.5-inch, 2019) with Big Sur. Trying to update to Venture, but Software Update is stuck on "Checking for Updates ..." This is the third try, and I've been waiting an hour this time around. Suggestions?

macOS 10.13.6 is the highest OS that the 2009 iMac can be upgraded to.
