My wife never setup a passcode on her iPhone 10 now lt won’t let her use without passcode

If the phone has a company email account or uses Apple Wallet it must have a passcode. Many secure apps such as banking apps also require that the phone have a passcode. And frankly, if you aren’t willing to have a passcode on a smartphone you shouldn’t have a smartphone. There is just too much personal physical and identity loss risk without a passcode.
