El Capitan installer is damaged, now what?

I tried to reinstall El Capitan on my mbp like before but now it says it is not possible. installer is damaged. Now what?

Problem Reinstalling El Capitan imac 21, model 13,1 have been running El Capitan 10.11.6 but drive crashed. I erased disk, reinstall Mountain Lion 10.8.5 from Apple's internet reinstall (only have choice of Mountain Lion 10.8.5 or Catalina, there's NOTHING FOR EL CAPITAN! When I try to reinstall El Capitan there's warnings saying "contact manufacturer and restart". I've restarted and tried to install many times w/o success. Delete the current El Capitan installer, and empty the Trash. Using only the Safari browser, visit this link to download El Capitan again. It will likely go to your downloads folder, and when you run that .dmg, it will then install the familiar upgrade installer in your Applications folder.
