my watch won’t display the date. i’ve tried changing the face a million times from both the phone and the watch but it just won’t let me. it will show the preview with the date on my phone but it doesn’t show up on the watch. I’ve restarted the watch and it still doesn’t won’t

Besides not getting the date to show (I don't even have it as an option), I can't get the dock to show just my favorites. I've done all of the updates, and yes, I've tried turning everything off and on, Moss.
After the watch update, my date disappeared, also. Now on the drop down for “Date” on all the available faces, it’s prechecked as “Off” and won’t give me an option to turn it “On”
I had exactly the same issue and downloading the calendar from the App Store worked for me.
I figured it out. You have to have the calendar app on your phone.

Thanks - It works. I had a calendar app on my phone which I still use, but when I down loaded the Apple calendar it worked!!
