Only manually. There is no merge tool like we had in Aperture.

See: How to Merge Keywords in Photos for Mac

Basically I am using a smart album to search for all keywords I want to merge into one keyword

Match Any:

  • Keyword is "Dog"
  • Keyword is "dog"

Then I select all photos in this smart album and in the Info I apply the keyword I want to keep.

Once the keeper has been applied, I delete the keyword I do not want to keep from the Info.

Then I delete the redundant keyword from Keyword Manager ⌘K in "edit keywords" mode.
