I have recently updated my ipad to ios 14. I've seen all over the Internet that people are customising their home screens and I wanted to give that a shot. When I downloaded a widgets app I held down the screen to get the plus but I wasnt there. I then swiped to the left to get the home screen thing. The plus was there. So I got my widget but I couldn't place it on my home screen. Does anyone know how to fix this?

To keep widgets pinned to your first Home Screen, you may need to alter your iPad settings:
Settings > Home Screen & Dock > [App Icons] - set to More
Settings > Home Screen & Dock > Keep Today View on Home Screen - set to ON
