My Macbook Air won’t turn on or charge

Hello Everyone!

About a week ago I came home to use my MacBook Air and it wouldn’t turn on and when I plugged in my charger, the light wouldn’t turn on either. I left my MacBook in my closet for a couple days and when I went to see if it would turn on it, it did.

Today I left my MacBook plugged in to do something and when I came back, my Mac was off and when I unplugged it and plugged it again, the charger was unresponsive. I tried to reset the SMC and nothing happened.

I did see some videos online about how I could open the panel at the bottom and unplug the battery ribbon from the logic board and plug it back in. Is there any validity to this?
