how to get apple tv+ on apple tv

i have an old apple tv box connected to a (non smart) samsung. The main menu (homescreen) shows alot of apps but not apple tv+ and i dont see any way to add an app. can you help?

The 1st and 2nd generation Apple TV don't support Apple TV+. See compatible devices in Devices you can use with the Apple TV app and Apple TV+ - Apple Support

In order to access AppleTV+ on your Apple TV box, it needs to be either a third or fourth generation.

Devices you can use with the Apple TV app and Apple TV+ - Apple Support

It sounds as if you have one older than that.

If you have a 3rd Gen you can update your software

Apple TV 4K and Apple TV HD updated to the latest version of tvOS
Apple TV (3rd generation) updated to the latest version of Apple TV software
