How do I delete photos from my MacBook Air to free up memory, but still save the photos in iCloud and on my other devices?

iCloud removing the need for Photos? If I drop all of my photos and videos into iCloud storage, can I stop using Photos on my Mac? I'm hoping that uploading all of my photos and videos to iCloud and removing them from Photos will increase my Mac's performance.

Turning on 'Optimize Mac Storage' in photos will be your only option. Deleting the pictures off of your Mac will delete them in the cloud as well.
