Location service called in every 5 sec .

Our app is Tracking app . In the App Location updates enable in Background Mode. Location Services called in every 5 sec due to which Data consumption By app is very high. I want to capture location in every Minute . In foreground I set the timer for 1 min where I got location update in After 1 min.Issue is that timer for location services not working in background and lock screen.My Location Manger configuration is :-

locationManager = CLLocationManager.init()

    locationManager?.distanceFilter = kCLDistanceFilterNone

    locationManager?.desiredAccuracy = kCLLocationAccuracyBest

    locationManager?.allowsBackgroundLocationUpdates = true

    locationManager?.delegate = self

    locationManager?.pausesLocationUpdatesAutomatically = false

So anyone give me the lead how to call location services after periodic time in background.
