Saving my PDF to 400 dpi JPEG

Several years ago I used Old Toad's advice on how to add the ability to convert a PDF to a JPEG with 400 dpi in my Print area of iPhoto. I am looking for that advice to try to add this ability to my 2017 MacBook. Is this possible and does anyone have those steps?

Thank you!

Not sure what you're referring to but Photos does not support PDF files so I don't think any old instructions that used iPhoto to do that would work. Maybe iPhoto was just part of the process?

Anyway, Preview is the tool to you really want to use. It can open PDF files and you can export to a JPEG and specify the resolution in pixels per inch (ppi).
