I have an extensive collection of iPods with hard drives and I would love to be able to use at least one of them with my new MacBook Pro 16 Inch laptop. Is there anything any of you very smart Mac users can offer me to get these iPods up and running with my new computer?
Syncing your iPod, restoring the device, manually adding content to it, manage storage (removing content from a manually managed device), renaming it, etc. These functions that were part of iTunes prior to macOS 10.15 Catalina are now available in Finder when using Catalina or later. Personally I had to restore my previously Windows formatted classic before it would play nicely with Catalina, but it does work. Device management duties are now in Finder.

I have an old iPod classic...MA146LL
Is there instructions anywhere you can point me too so I can load songs on too this device so I can give it too my niece?
iTunes asks me to turn on iCloud on my iPod....is doesn't offer that option under settings !

To play Apple Music songs on your iPod, turn on Cloud Music Library on your iPod.
You cannot add DRM protected Apple Music content, or anything that is in the cloud, to an iPod classic.
