How can I turn off iCloud Drive backup for a specific file on my MacBook Pro?

If you move a file outside the "iCloud Drive" backup-ed files location, it will no longer sync across iCloud.

For example, if your "Documents," "Desktop," and "Downloads," folders are all backing up to iCloud Drive, creating a folder in your Home separate from iCloud Drive backups will not backup files in that folder.
