When I try to update my Apple watch to watch iOS 6.2.8, I get unable to update because you need 2.2 GB on your watch. Go to watch app on iphone to delete apps until 2.2 GB is available. iPhone watch app does not allow me to delete watch apps to free up 0.4 GB to allow install. Anybody else having trouble.
Try unpairing and pairing your watch again and restoring from the backup. This deletes all temp and corrupted files and re-indexes the file system. This helps free a lot of space.

I hardbooted both the Apple Watch and IPhone X and that seemed to free up space so Apple Watch says it is updating. We will see
