I just received a new (Pre-owned) iPhone XR from Verizon. I need to insert the SIM card, but I can't seem to open the SIM tray. I have tried both the SIM card tool AND a paperclip, but neither one worked. How is the tray supposed to open?

Take it to a location that has the simple tool.
PS make a reminder for every three months to turn the phone off and take out the SIM.
Just insert the tool, or the paperclip end into the hold and press firmly inward. It may take a bit more pressure than you expect, but there is no trick. Just press in firmly.
Neither the SIM card tool nor a paper clip has been able to open the SIM tray on my new iPhone XR. How is this supposed to work?
