Android phone connection to a mid 2019 iMac

I have just replaced my mid 2010 iMac (OS 10.14) with a 2019 iMac (OS 10.15.6.)

Although both my android phone and the new iMac "see" each other when connected via Bluetooth , I cannot send files from the phone to the iMac (via Bluetooth) but can send files from the iMac to the phone.

I never had any file transferring issues either way with my old iMac.

Does anyone have any ideas or suggestions as to how to rectify this situation?

Thank you Rudegar. Much appreciated.

In the meantime I have left my wife's MacBook Pro using OS10.14. We do not have any bluetooth connection issues with that O.S.

For myself I will go the way of a cable connection to the 10.15 iMac, until it's time to upgrade my cel phone , when I will switch back to an iPhone.
