Unless you have 32 bits apps you simply cannot live without, and they have no update to 64 bits that will allow them to run on Catalina, yes its perfectly worth it.
If you do have 32 bit apps, check with their developers and see if there are 64 bit updates for them.
Things like Microsoft Office 2011, Adobe CS apps, old games etc... would not be updateable, and will not work on Catalina.
