It depends on your model TV.
Some recent models LG TV have (access to) the Apple TV app.
A few more series are AirPlay-enabled for streaming from e.g. an iPad.
All the other models will need an external streaming device (Apple TV set-to box, Roku, Fire TV) to view Apple TV app content.
