Apple Pay won’t add certain card

Hi all just wondering if someone could shed some light on an issue I’m having. I’m in the uk and previously had the iPhone X which had Apple Pay setup with my Barclays debit card. I then upgraded to a Samsung about 14 months ago. 2 weeks ago I got the iPhone 11 as I couldn’t adjust to the Samsung. I setup my new iPhone 11 on the same Apple ID I previously used on my old X but for the life of me I can’t add my Barclays card anymore it says card not added contact issuer it will add any other card I’ve tried except this one I’ve tried resetting the phone back to factory settings numerous times I’ve researched and tried different methods with the passcode no luck spent 2 hours on the phone to my bank another 2 hours to Apple nobody can get me any further forward with this. Wondering if anybody else has had this issue? Currently on iOS 13.6 any suggestions would be greatly appreciated thanks.

  1. Sometimes if you sign out of your Apple ID and back in it resolves the problem.
  2. Check your Apple ID region to make sure it is correct. If it is correct, you may need to select the same region again. (Change your Apple ID country or region - Apple Support)
  3. Check the region on your device to ensure it is correct (Settings>general>language & region - set to your region)
  4. A passcode is required to use the Wallet app. 
  5. You need to be in a region that supports Apple Pay - Countries and regions that support Apple Pay - Apple Support
  6. Your bank needs to support Apple Pay - Apple Pay participating banks - Apple Support
  7. If none of these suggestions are able to resolve your issue you can go here for further assistance - If you can't add cards to Wallet for Apple Pay - Apple Support
