Want to sync music from my computer not on iTunes

I subscribe to Apple Music, use iCloud for a backup. How can I get my music off iTunes on my Mac to sync with my new iPhone?

Apple Music How do I transfer music from my itunes music on my macbook onton my phone? I didnt use my apple music for a little while on my phone and it deleted everything while it is still on my mac. When i hit the cloud on my music list, it says to turn on icloud syncing, and i cannot find out how to do that
