iphoto

I've recently upgraded to Catalina and lost iPhoto. I think this is where I used to edit photos before printing? How do I upgrade to 64 bit ... I've been on a couple of 'helpful' Apple pages but got nowhere.

Photos replaced iPhoto 5 years ago. Launch Photos with the option key held down. From the resulting dialog, choose your iPhoto Library. Photos will create a new library with your iPhoto media. Your iPhoto Library will not be changed.

I've replaced iPhoto with Photo. However, what I was really trying to do is find the editor that I used to use before printing (which had all sorts of stuff like picture sizing? I thought it was part of iPhoto.

iPhoto did not have picture sizing unless you exported the image. However, the print dialogs for both Photos and iPhoto allow you to specify the size to print the image.
