Canon will not download to Mac Mojave

Canon will not download.

iphoto comes up with blank page, but pics will not appear

iMac 21.5″ 4K, macOS 10.14

Thank you for your hints and options!

I finally remembered that----many times---if I reboot the computer,

if that is where the glitch is----when it comes back up, the problem is gone.

I tried that this time and it worked.

But I will keep your hints handy, in case it happens again.

Have you tried a new cable?

Is it a micro-card with adapter or a full size SD card. The micro cards seem to fail at just the wrong time.

When was the last time you reformatted the card in the camera?

What camera?

I hate to say it. but sometimes there seems to be some mis-communication between the camera and the computer. The best way to clear it is to use an SD card reader, get the pictures that way, and then re-format the card in the camera.
