You download it from the App Store with the same Apple ID used to purchase it. There is no license number, other Han your Apple ID.

I double checked and my original copy was purchased under my old Apple ID which I no longer have the password for. (divorce issue) So do you think Apple will be able to make the change or am I just SOL?
You could try to contact App Store support, but I’m not sure what they could do if your ex-wife has the Apple ID.
You could also try using iforgot.apple.com and see if you can reset the password.
