My phone only charges when it’s completely dead

My phone only charges when it’s completely dead then once it turns on it stops charging. Can someone help? I have the iphone 6s

have you tried more than 1 charger / cable to make sure it's not a bad connection or bad charger? sometimes pocket lint etc can build up inside the lightning port too. Otherwise maybe your battery is shot?
