Recording Keynote per slide

I really love Keynote for making lectures, and the 'record slideshow' works great. But it doesn't have the option of recording per slide, or re-recording a single slide, as Powerpoint does... This implies that if you made a mistake on a slide you can not re-record only that slide, you have to re-record the all subsequent slides as well. This really reduces the usability of Keynote for me. I record several lectures per day since COVID forced my University to switch to on-line education, and right now I am actually considering to with to Powerpoint just because of this missing feature.

I saw some questions about this on the support section posted back as much as 8 years ago, so it doesn't seem Keynote will be changed soon. Does anyone have a simply workaround? It would be great if I could continu using Keynote...!

Dear Gary,

Thank you for the great tip.

It does work but I am not sure it is ideal. I do have a lot of animations on my slides (equations appearing etc). While recording the audio I should have memorised the order of the animations. After recording the audio, I should put the audio recording first in the build order, and then I should record the slideshow, clicking through the animations based on the recorded audio. I will practice a bit to see if that works for me. It is less 'natural' as compared to just recording the slideshow...
