Does icloud backup on ipad update iphone icloud backup

I have both an iPad and an iPhone under my apple id.

When I backup to icloud with either device does it update/overwrite the other device's icloud backup?

iPad, iPadOS 13

No. The two backups are not connected in any way at all.
