Apple TV not responding to remote after several attempts

I have gone through the remote set up process several times following the instructions for pairing and I keep getting a blinking message on the screen to move the remote closer to the Apple TV and it still won’t work as anyone know why? Or how to fix?

3rd Gen Apple TV issue Using a 3rd generation apple TV, purchased a new remote. Attempting to pair remote, holding menu and right- after I do that for a few seconds, the Apple TV light flickers but nothing comes onto the screen to said it is paired. Have restarted Apple TV handful of times with no luck. I am not sure if this matters but the device is not on wifi yet as I have no way to connect the device to wifi without the remote.

Apple TV remote not responding So like the title says, the remote isn't responding. Saw a few troubleshooting tips online that suggested to hold the Menu and Volume Up buttons simultaneously, and that did prompt the message that said something along the lines of "Remote pairing, bring closer to Apple TV" but it never successfully paired and the message remained on screen for a minute or two before disappearing. Tried several times to no avail. Any insight or suggestion would be greatly appreciated. Thank you

apple TV 3rd generation When I press a button on my apple tv remote the light on my apple tv device blinks a few times and nothing else happens. How do I get it to respond, again?
