I have a 2015 13 in MacBook Pro that has started (last 2 weeks) connecting and reconnecting to external monitor with HDMI and DisplayPort. Resetting the nvram seems to help for 5-6 days. Anyone have any thought? Yes, I am on the latest OS.
As you know, it is very difficult to troubleshoot something if the issue cannot be created on demand. You stated that resetting NVRAM helps for a few days and then the issue happens again. Do you use any antivirus software by any chance? If YES try turning it OFF. Have you tried to Reset the SMC by following the directions applicable to your MacBook Air here ➔ How to Reset SMC. The other option is to enter ➔ macOS Recovery Mode and reinstall the macOS and see if that solves it.
