So said I was out of space so I purchased iCloud space for $2.99 a month. Tried backing up everything on iCloud and it said it could not complete. I’ve tried a couple of times now. I’m at home, connected to WiFi, and plugged in. Still says cannot complete.

Is the device up to date? Can you try another WiFi if possible?
If you can't back up to iCloud or restore from iCloud backup failed - Apple Support.
