old I Mac

I replaced my iMac, which had crashed. My son got everything up and running but I replaced it anyway.. All my information is still in/on my old Mac. How do I wipe it clean and then dispose or recycle it?

Hi,

you can boot in recovery mode and then use the Disk Utility tool to erase the disk. You can even choose the security level in the options. But if you haven't got any important or private data on the old Mac just restart your Mac, hold the option key, choose Recovery Mode and then use the standard erase function built in.
