Hello, I have a 2009 MacBook Pro 13 with a new SSD running El Capitan. I want to physically move that SSD to a 2011 MacBook Pro 15 running High Sierra, replacing the HDD with the new SSD. How do I do that? Can I do that?

Yes you can move the SSD from the 2009 laptop to the 2011 laptop. Just move it over. Since it has macOS 10.11 installed it should be just be able to boot the 2011 laptop.
THANK YOU. And then once I physically move over the SSD, the 2011 laptop presumably will then let me upgrade to High Sierra, which was not possible in a 2009 laptop? Correct?
