iPad setup keeps asking for my iphone passcode

I enter it and it tells that it's not correct. But it IS correct--every time. And yes, it's asking for the passcode, not the verification code which it has already sent me and has already been entered.

This is so painful, I wiped clean and old ipad to see if I could just use a couple of apps and have it still function and this happens. Thoughts?

Confirm iPad passcode I bought a new iPad and am setting it up. It says that I need to confirm my iPad passcode. So I am putting in my 6 digit code that I use to open iPad, change settings etc. it continues to clock and doesn’t accept it. No error message comes up. The display just goes away and then I still have the message that it needs to be done. Am I putting in the wrong code? I tried getting verification code from my iPhone and it says it is wrong. Hello,

Are you certain that the passcode you are entering is correct? It may be asking for a passcode you previously used on your iPhone.
