How do I backup files using both iCloud and Time Machine?

How do I backup files using both iCloud and Time Machine on my iMac? Right now, I'm duplicating files that I want saved in both places which is becoming unwieldy! I'm sure there's a better way...

How to add my ICloud Files to Time Machine backup? How to add my ICloud Files to Time Machine backup? I thought they were backed up on my Time Machine SSD drive but can’t locate them. Thank you.

iCloud is NOT a backup tool / solution for a Mac.

It's designed to allow you to store documents in the cloud and synchronize them across all of your devices.
