Emojis and Bitmojis disappeared on iPhone 8

They suddenly weren't there! Then 2 days later the Bitmojis reappeared. When I go to Settings-General-Keyboard-Keyboards, Emojis is listed, but there's no arrow next to it to click. I've tried going to Edit and deleting Emjoi, which works. But when I try to add it, it adds but isn't live, so back where I started. I've tried powering down and powering up. I'm on software version 13.3.1.
