itunes and ipod

The updated version of itunes doesn't recognize my ipod classic automatically. It doen't show up in itunes though connected to the computer. What can I do?

iTunes 12.11.3 won't recognise iPod Classic Since downloading iTunes 12.11.3 on my PC, iTunes no longer recognises my iPod Classic (one of the really old ones, 80GB with a grey disc control and white button set into the front of the housing). All was working fine before downloading iTunes 12.11.3. I love this iPod - it's been part-way round the world with me and it's less complex than newer versions - just does what I want it to without any extra stuff I don't want, but now iTunes is shutting it out. Itunes doesn't recognize ipod classic Itunes doesn't recognize my ipod classic when plugged into my pc lap top. The lap top recognizes the device just itunes doesn't. I've tried resetting the ipod, changing it to act as a disk drive... nothing has worked.
