Cannot make calls with my sim using the iphone

I need assistance on how to make calls because if i insert my sim it reads as searching

If you see No Service or Searching on your iPhone or iPad - Apple Support


Update your carrier settings on your iPhone or iPad - Apple Support...See if you need this...
