update late 2011 MacBook Pro 13" from 10.12.6

I just miss the cutoff to update automatically to Catalina (or whatever it is on Apple Support page) but would like to update to at least 10.13. Does anyone know how that is done? Do I purchase software?

Back up your data, check your applications for compatibility, and download High Sierra.
