MacBook Pro Mid 2012 Non Retina won’t turn on

Hi all,

My MacBook was working fine and I decided to shut it down from the Apple menu. Now it won’t turn back on. Whenever I plug in the charger it lights up. The battery indicator light says it is fully charged. Does anyone have any suggestions? It has said service battery for quite some time now. Could it be the battery? I don’t think it is the battery because should it not still work if it was plugged into the charger?

Hope someone can help me

There are a few things that can be the cause of partial power failure.

Magsafe power plug and accompanying mac port, may have issues.

Also the mag port inside the Macbook may have partially failed.

This separate power I/O Board from logic board; aka: DC-in Board.

There are spring loaded connector pins in the MagSafe plug; if these

are not free moving, and are stuck, this affects their functional state.

Several potential causes of trouble are outlined in a few support sites.
