iMessage connection issues

Why does my iPhone keep switching to green text messages instead of iMessage when I am connected to wif?

Hi Milly,


iMessages (Blue) has nothing to do with whether you are connected to WiFi or Cellular. It has everything to do with proper activation of iMessages on your iPhone AND the same conditions apply to the recipient / sender of the Message. In other words, both, the sender and the recipient, must have iMessages activated (only possible on iPhones) and have a good connection to the internet.


Note that iMessages (Blue) can only be sent/received among iPhones. If one of the two is NOT an iPhone then the message is sent/received as an SMS message (Green).
