Email Alert

I received an email yesterday from Apple saying that my Apple ID was locked and if I didn’t Log in in 24 hrs. it would be locked. I started to Log in but got to apart where they wanted my Social Security Number. I was uncomfortable giving out my SSN and stopped filling out information, thinking that this could be a hoax and someone out there wanted my information. I wanted to contact Apple to see if this is a legitimate email coming from Apple. Please let me know. Thank you.

Report this to Apple:

This is a Phishing Scam.

Apple will never ask you for your Social Security Number in an eMail. Nor an eMail in an or-else circumstance.

So, forward this eMail to Apple. That way, they can be made aware of this. Here is where to forward it: reportphishing@apple.com
