Color Scale in Numbers for Mac

Is it possible with Numbers 10 to use conditional formatting to create a color scale? I am looking for a column of cells to change color, based on the current date. So of the dates entered, the cell with the closest date will turn a shade of color, and as the dates move out, the cell color changes in intensity.
