dotted clouds when importing cds with external cd drive itunes match

I'm using an external cd drive on my windows laptop to import a bunch of my old cds into itunes. i have itunes match but not apple music. the songs import & play on my laptop, but after importing 2 dozen or so, I noticed they have been given dotted clouds. i looked up dotted clouds & checked my iphone, where they do not show up. Is there a setting I can change? i don't like to mess with the sync as i keep different music on different devices as i never have time to sort music things out before other parts become obsolete. I'm really annoyed with itunes right now. Please help & tell me I havent wasted hours of time importing things!

Windows, Windows 10

Select the tracks with dotted clouds, right-click, and use Add to Library.
