After recent updates, iPhone X (iOS13.4) won't backup to iMac (MacOS 10.15.4)

After recent updates, iPhone X (iOS13.4) won't backup to iMac (MacOS 10.15.4). I restart iPhone, restart iMac, it still doesn't backup to the iMac. Problem persists whether connected directly to iMac by USB, or trying to sync over WiFi. Usually, after many efforts, it finally does back up, but not without trying many times. Often, the iPhone doesn't even show up on the iMac when connected. Sometimes "selected device cannot be found. Other times I click "Backup" but get an error dialog such as "....the iPhone disconnected".

Before the recent MacOS and iOS updates, it backed up without difficulty. Can someone help?

You cannot backup over WiFi.

Connect iPhone to Computer / Mac

Thanks. Doesn't seem to be that simple. I did manage to get a backup on a different computer, but there seems to be a problem with the iPhone X. Another iPhone X backs up normally to the same computer. I plan to try to Restore the problem iPhone X to see if that fixes the problem.

Thanks for your help.
