SIM card Switches and number problems

I recently got back from a trip to Buenos Aires. While I was there, I switched my iPhone 8 SIM card from my Verizon one to a Movistar SIM card. I got an Argentine number and everything. Eventually, I was packing to come back and found that my other Verizon SIM card had been thrown away. When I got back to the States, I immediately ordered a new Verizon SIM card. I switched the SIM card, but my Argentine number is still in my phone and it won't let me delete it. Additionally, I can't seem to add my old number back onto the phone either. I have data and everything else, I just basically have a phone without a phone number. I called Verizon and got another SIM card sent to me, but the same thing happened with the second SIM card too. I tried turning on and off the phone, turning on and off IMessage and FaceTime. Please help! Thank you!

You are going to have to call Verizon back and explain the situation to them and get a tier 2 engineer to put your iPhone back on their system.
