Unable to run Bootcamp. Bootcamp unable to read windows partition

I used to have a running windows 10 partition in the past, which I deleted months ago (not sure if I removed it properly?).

However, when I now try to run bootcamp to install Windows 10 again, I get the error message :

(I get this message right after starting bootcamp and hitting continue on the introduction window, then after the error message it takes me back to introduction)

Unable to read the Windows partition
Boot Camp Assistant was unable to verify if the Windows partition contains a Windows installation. This may be because BitLocker is enabled on the partition. If so, disable BitLocker on the disk before removing Boot Camp.
