Mac says WiFi is not turned on and that no hardware is installed

My WiFi connection isn’t working as of recent. WiFi is working in our house but on the Mac it says WiFi not turn on and that no hardware is installed. This had never happened. I try to turn it on in setting but it doesn’t work.
